The Seeing Heart

pre-production (spring 2007)
This story is
taken from the Gospel of John 9. In this story we meet a
the young blind beggar Benjamin who has dreamed of meeting
Jesus. In the film we see Benjamin and his miraculous
chance encounter with the Messiah. Through his faith in
God he is healed. We then follow Benjamin as he races to
convince his family and rabbi's of the miracle that has been
given to him. What he encounters next is even worse than
being born blind. Benjamin is horrified to discover that
men with eyes are blind in the heart and unwilling to accept
what is right in front of there eyes.

Jesse a
drifter that moves in and out of lives of everyday people
bringing the parables and scriptures of Jesus to life. We
first meet Jesse as he is walking along a deserted highway.
Jesse does not judge people by what they look like or act like,
but what is in the heart. As Jesse leaves each person he
meets they are left wondering if Jesse is truly Jesus
returned.

In the
days of global rule the government appointed religious leaders
try to ignore the prophesies of years past of the coming
Messiah. A young girl engaged to be married has a visit
from an angel. But, what she is told is unthinkable.
Not only is her elderly aunt pregnant, but she a virgin is to have
a child, but not just any child, she is to have the son of God. Will her beloved fiancée
still marry her? What will the governor do if he finds
out about her secret? To make matters more complicated
several members of an ancient secret society have seen signs in
the stars. Will these men know what to do with the secrets they have
seen in the stars? What would you do?
